Volkswagen News – June 2018

The new home of Doncaster Volkswagen

Doncaster Volkswagen is relocating! In what is expected to be mid-late 2019, Doncaster Volkswagen will be shifting up the road to our new, permanent location at 825 Doncaster Road, Doncaster – the current site of Doncaster Holden. We’ll be right next door to the newest member of the Penfold family: Doncaster Hyundai, and straight across the road from Audi Centre Doncaster.

The aged Doncaster Holden building will be knocked over, to be replaced by a brand-spanking new Volkswagen building. We’ll have pictures to share of the new building’s proposed design once approvals and other bits and pieces have all gone through.

Sales and service operations will continue as normal at our current location right up until the day the new building opens for business in 2019.

New additions to the Amarok V6 line-up

Volkswagen has announced the newest addition to the updated Amarok V6 range from October, the Amarok Core V6. The Core will start below $50,000 and include a manual option later on.

It’ll feature four-wheel disc brakes, 17-inch alloy wheels, a rear-view camera with parking sensors, a 6.5-inch infotainment system and heavy duty vinyl floors. The Core will carryover the previous Amarok V6’s 165kW of power and 550Nm of torque from its 3.0-litre V6 turbo-diesel.

At the other end of the scale is the Amarok V6 Ultimate, which has gained a power boost. The revised 3.0-litre V6 turbo-diesel produces 190kW (200kW on overboost) and 580Nm, up 25kW and 30Nm on the previous Amarok V6.

Thanks to the power bump, it’ll now hit 100km/h in a claimed 7.3 seconds (down from 7.9 seconds) and run from 80-120km/h in 5.5 seconds, down from 6.0 seconds. The Ultimate will also gain a new hero colour in the form of Peacock Green (pictured above) and a new bumper.
